Noise Control
Numerical Simulations of a Projectile
The Interlog team is well experienced in numerical simulations that implement mathematical models for non-linear physical systems or a coupled-designs.
We developed a parametric model of a new noise/signature controlled projectile system. The model uses a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation which analyzes a projectile moving through air. The goal of this simulation is to obtain the flow characteristics and sound pressure levels (SPL) around the projectile and investigate the effect of the projectiles on the acoustic signature as it is observed by an audience in a closed area. The focus of the analysis at this stage was to simulate the behavior of the bullet as it leaves the barrel and observe the pressure distribution, temperature gradient and Mach number as the bullet moved through ambient air.
Founded in 1992, Interlog Corporation specialized in the fabrication of quality electrical and mechanical components for use on military and commercial vehicles.
